The Richmond Gimlet in Wine Enthusiast Magazine

See more General

I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see that Gary Regan had included the Richmond Gimlet in his lineup of drinks for a superb article in Wine Enthusiast magazine this month.

The article centers on some of the wonderful new gins that are being released right now from all over the world. The Richmond Gimlet is proudly representing Tanqueray 10, one of my favorites.

You can see the article here and my recipe for the Richmond Gimlet here (I think I sent Gary an old version of the recipe – oops!)

Thanks, Gary!

Well, folks, the author of The Scotch Blog has spoken, Hendricks Gin is officially the finest gin on the planet!

Actually, I love Hendricks as well. If you’ve never treated yourself to a bottle of this Scottish gin, infused with rose petals and cucumber, I would highly recommend that you do.

  • Hendricks Gin is the finest gin on the planet. Don’t argue with me. And it has nothing to do with the fact that it is from Scotland. Though that doesn’t hurt…

Yes, just a little bit! Thanks the the story, Churba, it definitely perked up my day – oh, and thanks for reading and helping spread the love in the southern hemisphere!

    Just a little bit, Aye?

I must admit, it has been in my Notebook for a while – I often write recipes down in a notebook for later reference, with the notebook being kept in my apron When at work – and I do Suggest it to people looking for new gin cocktails, but it is honestly the first time that I’ve had someone request it independent of my previous suggestions.
I was quite chuffed, to be honest, as I imagine you yourself would be.

    Churba, that’s amazing! And weird!

Jeffery, mate, your fame is beyond all believable bounds.

Just last night at work, I had a woman come in and ask for a Richmond Gimlet, and if I knew the drink. I did a mental double take, Replied that I did, and reached for the Tanqueray Ten, meanwhile asking her where she’d heard of it, thinking she might have WOMed it from someone – but no, the reply comes back “Well, there’s this guy online, he’s a bartender, and he posts his recipes online”

The most interesting part, well, concerning yourself, anyway? This isn’t The USA – I’m talking Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

I like them a lot, particularly their Desert Juniper gin. For those of you who haven’t tried Oregon’s Bend Distillery products, you can check them out here.

  • Out of curiosity, what do you think of Bend Distillery’s gins?

  • Steve says:

Very cool. I’ve been wanting to try one ever since I saw your recipe. I just have to cough up the $25 for a bottle of Tanqueray Ten.
